Sumana Chakravarti is an Indian film and television actress who started her acting career at the age of 11 in 1999 starring Mann through Aamir Khan and Manisha Koirala. She did a lot of TV shows over the next few years, but her big break came in 2011 when she played Natasha in the Balaji Telefilms-produced TV show Bade Achhe Lagte Hain. The following year, she appeared on Sony Entertainment Television’s comedy show Kahani Comedy Circus Ki with Kapil Sharma, where the two became winners. Since then, her professional partnership with Kapil Sharma began and continues today.

From June 2013 to January 2016, she was seen as Manju Sharma during Comedy Nights with Kapil, where she played Kapil Sharma’s wife. Chakravarti was born on June 24, 1988 in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India, the only daughter of her parents, businessman father Sujeet Chakravarti and a housewife. She grew up in a Hindu-Bengali speaking family. Chakravarti spent the first few years of her life in Lucknow, but her family later moved to Mumbai, Maharashtra. She has one sibling, a younger brother named Shivarga Chakravarti, who is a chef.

Chakravarti made her debut at the age of 10 when she appeared in Indra Kumar’s “Mann” as a child artist. Her first famous role was as Nivedita Deb on the popular Zee TV show “Kasamh Se”. She then appeared on Star Plus’ highly rated show “Kasturi” in which she played the role of Vandy Singhania.

Some of her other early roles include shows like “Sapno Se Bhare Naina”, “Neer Bhare Tere Naina Devi”, “Sun Yaar Chill Maar”, “Night of Horror” and “Khotey Sikkey”.

Chakravarti gained national recognition in 2012 when she played villain Natasha Kapoor in Ekta Kapoor’s hit TV show “Bade Achhe Lagte Hain” and appeared in Anurag Basu’s “Barfi!” This led to her being selected as a contestant on Sony TV’s “Kahani Comedy Circus Ki,” which marked the beginning of her collaboration with comedian Kapil Sharma.

The two went on to win the show and develop a close friendship. When Sharma got his own TV show “Night of Kapil Comedy” on color TV, Chakravarti was chosen as his wife Manju Sharma. The show ran from 2013 to 2016. The two also starred together on Sony TV’s “The Kapil Sharma Show,” in which she wrote “Sarla Gulati.”
