Sigourney Weaver is an American actress. Weaver was selected in the top 20 on Channel 4’s list of the 100 Greatest Movie Actors of All Time, making her one of only two women to make it to No. 20. Weaver is best known for playing Alan Ripley in the Alien trilogy, widely regarded as one of the most important heroines in film history. Weaver has received multiple nominations and awards over the course of her career, including two Golden Globes and a BAFTA.

The journey of life
Susan Weaver was born in New York City on October 8, 1949, to former actress Elizabeth Inglis and American television executive Pat Weaver.
Weaver began adopting the pseudonym Sigourney at the age of 14, borrowed from a supporting role in The Great Gatsby.
She studied at Brearley School and Chapin School in New York before attending Ethel Walker School. By the age of 11, Weaver was said to have grown to a height of 5 feet 10 inches.
In 1967, Weaver visited Israel before turning 18 and volunteered for several months on a kibbutz. After returning to the United States, she went to Sarah Lawrence College.
After his freshman year, Weaver transferred to Stanford University to major in English. She is very interested in drama at Stanford University. She finally received her BA in English in 1972.
Weaver then entered the Yale School of Drama, where he received his MFA in 1974. During this time, she starred in the musical adaptation of Frog. She has also collaborated on a number of other projects with Meryl Streep.
She worked mostly in theatre, and only acted in commercials and a few TV shows before her breakout in Alien.
