The journey of life
Shamita Shetty completed her studies at St Anthony’s High School for Girls in Mumbai. She then completed her secondary education at Sydenham College in Mumbai and a Bachelor of Commerce from SNDT Women’s University in the same city. Later, Shamita obtained a Diploma in Fashion Design from another university in India.
In 2000, Shamita made her film debut with director Aditya Chopra’s musical romantic drama “Mohabbatein”, where she made her film debut with Amitabh Bachchan, Starring Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai. In 2000, Shamita made her debut with the Yash Raj Films film Mohabbatein directed by Aditya Chopra. Her portrayal of Shi Xiang won her the 2001 IIFA Rising Star of the Year Award – Female. It wasn’t long before she delivered some of Bollywood’s best dance hits, including “Sharara Sharara” in Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai in 2001 and “Chori Pe Chori” in Saathiya in 2002, for her role in the film Zeher ( 2005), where she was nominated for Star of the Year – Woman of the Stardust Award.
Shamita worked at Fareb with her sister Shilpa Shetty. In 2005, she also participated in multi-star projects such as Bewafa.
