Kapil Sharma was born on April 2, 1981, into a middle-class Brahmin family in Amritsar, Punjab. His father, Jeetendra Kumar Punj, is a constable of the Punjab Police Station, while his mother, Janak Rani, is a housewife. His father was diagnosed with cancer in 1997 and died in 2004 at AIIMS in Delhi. Kapil has two other siblings, a brother named Ashok Kumar Sharma and a sister named Pooja Sharma.
Previously, he had an affair with creative director Preeti Simoes. He is in a relationship with actress Ginni Chatrath, and the two got engaged in 2013. They first appeared on the set of the comedy reality show “Hans Baliye”. Kapil Sharma tied the knot with Ginni Charath on December 12, 2018 in Jalandhar, Punjab. The journey of life
Kapil Sharma completed his studies at Shri Ram Ashram High School in Amritsar, Punjab. He then obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree at the Hindu College in Amritsar. During college, he participated in singing, dancing and drama competitions. He won several awards at the time. Kapil has put a lot of effort into helping his family financially throughout his life. He used to work at the PCO when he was at the 10th standard. For several months, he also worked in a cloth factory. Later, Kapil started to do theater and also did some small shows. In 2006, Kapil Sharma participated in the Punjabi comedy reality show “Hasde Hasande Ravo” which aired on MH One. After that, he participated in another Punjabi comedy show “The Great Punjabi Comedy Show”. In 2007, Kapil Sharma emerged as the winner of the show, taking home the trophy and raking in Rs 1 lakh.
