Jennifer Shahad’s career
Jennifer Shahad started her chess career with her father a FIDE Grandmaster and her brother a FIDE International Grandmaster. However, she surpassed both of them with the title of FIDE Women’s Grandmaster.
Although she had been competing until then, she won her first major tournament in 2002, at the age of 21, as the US women’s chess champion. A year later, Shahad achieved her second FIDE Masters Standard, and in 2004 she became the U.S. Women’s Chess Champion for the second time.
After making waves at home, Shahad was selected to represent her country at the Chess Olympiad for three years.
While she no longer participates in many of these games, she does enjoy the chess exhibition with up to 50 games simultaneously. The party trick took Shahad around the world, visiting countries such as China, South Africa and various US states.
Like many other celebrities including Meghan Markle, Margot Robbie, Ricky Martin, Shahad had a colorful career. Not content with success in an intellectual sport, Shahade started playing poker. In 2014, she won her first event at the Open Face High Roller Championship, then became the PokerStarsusing this post to help encourage more women into the sport.
After enjoying his own great success, Shahade also became a poker coach, teaching others advanced strategies and how to implement them in his own game.

It focuses on the more technical aspects of chess, using successful female players as case studies of different approaches. The provocative title aims to challenge outdated derogatory terms that associate bad form with female players.

After selling a carload of her books, Shahade explored a new medium to share her passion. A few months later, Shahade created another called grid. Focused on poker, this series systematically examines each of the 169 hands available in No Limit Hold’em and uses a 13×13 grid for demonstrations.
