Why Bobby Axelrod’s exit from Billions is bad for the show
the hit Showtime TV series, billions, is a gem of a show. It introduces us to the crazy world of finance and law enforcement in the most entertaining way possible. Set in downtown New York City, the series tells the story of billionaire hedge fund manager Bobby Axelrod, played by Damian Lewis (home(John Adams), as the latter cracks down on billionaire illicit business. Fierce confrontation scenes and witty comebacks make this drama worth looking forward to. Lewis and Giamatti, two powerful actors, also brought their A-games every time. This is made by Lewis’ departure After five long seasons, it’s a tough pill to swallow. Here are five reasons why we think Bobby Axelrod’s exit from the series will be bad for the show:
5. No other character can match his cunning
Bobby is a force to be reckoned with. He’s a self-made man and definitely knows how to seize the day. He may have accumulated his fortune in some questionable ways, but he was still able to grow his hedge fund firm, Axe Capital, to great heights. Being smarter than everyone else is a skill Bobby has mastered that pushes him to stay one step ahead of everyone on the show, including Chuck. It’s not going to be easy to knock him down, because Bobby will never go down without a fight. He may have lost some important parts of his life and career in the final moments of the series, but he still said goodbye like a true champion.
4. Will miss his unapologetic attitude
Nothing and no one can stop Bobby from achieving whatever he wants. He may have to cross boundaries and engage in some unethical business practices, but he almost always gets the job done. His character is like a wild card, and his next moves will surprise you, which is what makes him so endearing and a huge part of the series. The conflicts in the series often stem from Bobby’s business decisions, and Chuck’s life’s mission is to catch him on the spot. This cat-and-mouse chase is always exciting, especially when you have two unique characters who may be on the other side of the spectrum but are also similar in many ways. Bobby’s departure is like a void that can never be filled, an irreplaceable void.
3. The chemistry he built with his colleagues is unique
This Hedge fund manager in vest Live and breathe money from Axe Capital. Backed by Bobby’s influence and huge bonus, the entire team showed a united front, coming to Bobby’s defense every time. If the Mafia boss has his advisors, Bobby has his COO and right-hand man Mike ‘Wags’ Wagner, played by David Costabile (breaking Bad), and by Maggie Siff (son of anarchy), who also happens to be Chuck’s ex-wife. The entire Axe Capital team took the financial world by storm. Losing a leader like Bobby was a huge blow to both the audience and Bobby’s colleagues.
2. He still has many opportunities to pursue
Before he left, Bobby was turning Axe Capital into a full-fledged bank. This storyline could be explosive in multiple ways. Beyond that, Bobby has a lot more to do as he also controls the Taylor Mason Capital hedge fund led by his former employee Taylor Mason, played by Asia Kate Dillon (orange is the new black). It’s sad to think that our “assumptions” won’t be satisfied anytime soon. We can try to heal our broken hearts by marveling at the tremendous interactions we witness with Bobby and the other characters. who knows? He may appear again in the future. After all, if the series has taught us one thing, anything is possible in Billions’ world.
1. Chuck has no better opponent
It’s never been more satisfying to see two successful grown men go head-to-head. It’s hard to fully support one side, as both characters have quite a few satisfying victories. They are both strong-willed and good at their profession. A two-beam combo that will knock anyone else down in an instant. With Bobby gone, Chuck turns his attention to the rest of the Billionaires Club.Mike Prince, by Corey Stoll (house of cards), Bobby’s business nemesis, and the man who took over his business. His business practices are different from Bobby’s, and he values ethics above everything else. While Mike seems like an interesting guy, there’s still a long way to go with the iconic role of Bobby Axelrod.
