Animal Kingdom season 5 finale ends with a mystery
Animal Kingdom ends on October 3, 2021 with Episode 13 – with some gore and a successful heist for the Cody family, it’s the perfect finale in true Animal Kingdom style for the season, and obviously, if not for a sixth season Suspense before the final season.
As a crime family, murder is the norm, and members even kill each other, like the Smurfs sending Buzz to death – what a delightful mother.
However, the death does eventually go back to Cody’s house, and it looks like the discovery of Katherine’s body in the finale will be the first episode of the next season.

Katherine Blackwell: Who is responsible for her death?
If you’ve been an Animal Kingdom viewer since Season 1, you’ll remember that the Pope killed Katherine in Season 1 Episode 9, titled The Kiss of Judas.
You could say Catherine should die because she tried to steal $10,000 from the Smurfs – Catherine took the cash from behind the dryer at the Smurfs house after the Cody boys successfully completed their military base heist .
The matriarch was already suspicious of Buzz’s girlfriend; coupled with the missing money and the fact that she was friends with a police officer, Pop was sent to confront her.
Pop’s infatuation with her means it’s possible for her to escape, especially if she initiates sex in order to escape. However, after the deed was completed, the Pope suffocated her with a pillow and buried her body in the desert with her bag.
