Squid Game has been at the top of Netflix’s top 10 for a while now, and it looks like it has no plans to move. The K-drama took the world by storm with its high-stakes battle royale format. We introduce you to player 240 from Squid Game, aka Ji Young, and meet actress Lee Yoo Mi who plays her.

What is Netflix’s squid game about?
The show is inspired by the Japanese battle royale mode, where players must fight to the death to win a huge cash prize of 45.6 billion won. Squid Game has 456 players who are in debt and struggling in the outside world.
If they successfully complete six children’s games, they will receive this cash prize. Little do they know, however, that these are not harmless missions, as failure in a squid game means sudden death.

Meet the players of Squid Game 240
Player 240, aka Ji Young, was previously jailed after killing her abusive father. She joined the squid game directly after being released, and has little prospect in the outside world.
Fans love the friendship between Ji-young No. 240 and Sebaek No. 067. Before playing together, 240 told 067 her real name and her own personal story. While we don’t want to reveal any spoilers, this duo is one of the most exciting moments in the entire series.

Who is actress Lee Yoo Mi?
Lee Yoo Mi is a 27-year-old actress represented by Varo Entertainment. She has been working in the film and television industry since 2010, her first role was Na Hongjin’s “The Yellow Sea”. She then starred in the TV series “It’s Okay to Be Sensitive,” Uisa Yohan and Just Dance, and the film Hostage: Celebrity Disappearances and Teen Issues.
Since his appearance in Squid Game, the actor’s following has grown amazingly. On September 18, the actor only had around 40,000 followers, but she now has over 1.5 million followers!
