After watching The Billion Dollar Code on Netflix, viewers wanted to learn more about Brian Anderson, the head of Silicon Graphics.
Although it’s based on a true story, The Billion Dollar Code is a fictional German series created by Robert Talheim and Oliver Zieghenbalger.
The series follows a trial between a small company suing a large corporation after accusing it of violating its patents and earning millions of dollars.

Is Billion Dollar Crypto the True Story?
The Billion Dollar Code is based on events between Berlin-based firm ART+COM and tech giant Google.
The end credits state that this is “a fictional adaptation of the events of the day, drawn from court records and collaborations with Joachim Salt, Pavel Meyer, Axel Schmidt, Gerd Grunes and A Conversation with Martin Siebnerag”.
Joachim Sauter, who founded ART+COM, collaborated with the filmmaker on the series. Sadly, the art professor never saw the series complete when he passed away in July 2021. The series is dedicated to him.
Who is Brian Anderson of Silicon Graphics?
Brian Anderson is one of the principals of Silicon Graphics, a computer manufacturing company.
Anderson contacted German inventors Carsten Schlüter and Juri Müller about their work and the computer program Terravision they created.
Schlüter and Müller used Onyx, designed by Silicon Graphics, to develop Terravision. In 1995, Anderson invited the couple to show it at the company’s California showroom.
Müller discussed Terravision’s algorithm with Anderson and said he hopes to make it available to the public via the Internet in the future.
After returning from the United States, Schlüter started his own company Art+Com. Terravision was never released to the public because no one wanted to invest in their idea. Meanwhile, the inventors heard that Anderson and Google had jointly launched Google Earth.
In 2005, Anderson developed a demo program that appeared to replicate Terravision. Mueller accused Anderson of stealing his work and Terravision’s coding. Müller said he discussed the details of the software during a visit to Anderson in Silicon Valley.
Anderson admits that Terravision inspired him, Say: “If I hadn’t seen Terravision at the time, I would never have created something like this.”
To avoid a lawsuit, Anderson is said to have offered Mueller and Schluter a partnership agreement that would allow them to make $5 million.
When the German inventor took Anderson to court, Anderson denied knowing Mueller and Schluter and that Terravision inspired his software. The judge agreed with Anderson and rejected all of Mueller and Schluter’s claims. It seems like it’s all over for this couple…

He is a Swedish actor who speaks fluent English, best known for his role in the movie Inbrottet.
