ABC’s new series “Women in Motion” explores the murder of Emmett Till and its impact on the civil rights movement. Find out where he was buried and how his funeral touched thousands of lives.
Women in Motion premieres on ABC on Thursday, January 6, 2022, documenting the brutal murder of 14-year-old Emmett Till in 1955.
In August 1955, African-American Thiel was lynched and dismembered by two white men in Mississippi. whistle in a white woman (Caroline Bryant).
His body was found Aug. 31 in the Tallahassee River near Money, Mississippi. Until he was beaten so badly that his uncle could only recognize him by the ring he wore.
The six-episode historical drama centers on Adrienne Warren’s Mamie Till-Mobley, who has dedicated her life to seeking justice for her son.Played by Cedric Joe Emmett Thiel Tony Pinkins plays his grandmother, Alma Carson.
Two episodes will air every Thursday ABC January 6 to January 20.

Where is Emmett Till buried?
Thiel’s body was transported back to Chicago at his mother’s request.
Shocked by her son’s condition, she called for an open coffin funeral and rejected an offer from the undertaker to cover up his injuries. Till-Mobley wants the world to ‘look what they did to my kids’, reports chicago sun-times.
A glass-topped casket was chosen and thousands came to pay their respects, rallying all the community’s support for the family. The murder is widely seen as a catalyst for the civil rights movement, and Thiel remains an icon in black history.
His funeral was held on September 6, 1955, at the Church of God in Christ in Roberts Temple, and he was interred at Burr Oaks Cemetery in Alsip, Illinois.
Emmett Till’s original glass-topped coffin is already in SmithsonianSince Thiel’s remains were abandoned in November 2009, the National Museum of African American History and Culture Reburied in a new coffin.

What happened to Emmett Till’s murderer?
Caroline Bryant’s husband Roy Bryant and his half-brother JW Milam charged with murder September 1955. Three days later, the Daily News informed readers that a grand jury charged the pair with Thiel’s murder.
This pair claim them Only Thiel was reportedly kidnapped and acquitted by an all-white, all-male jury Washington post.
Milam died December 31, 1980, and Kobe Bryant died on September 1, 1994.According to reports, the cause of death in both cases was cancer.
