What is the prize money at Wimbledon? 2021 Prizes Announced
Praise the tennis gods – we are back at the All England Club after a two-year hiatus.
The 2020 Grand Slam event on Wimbledon’s iconic grass court has been canceled due to the impact of the pandemic.
That meant 2019 champions Novak Djokovic and Simona Halep had to defend their titles a year later than expected. Although Halep is unfortunately out due to injury.
However, the coronavirus has not only affected the schedule. It also had a pretty far-reaching impact on tournament prize money.

What is the capacity of Wimbledon this year?
On the first day of this year’s games, the stadium was at half capacity.
Thankfully, Wimbledon is part of the UK government’s plan to test the abilities of fans at major events.
This means that the initial 50% capacity should be restored to 100% when the finals take place on the weekend of July 10-11.
So for Centre Court, that means there should be 15,000 spectators in attendance.

What is the total prize money for Wimbledon in 2021?
The total prize money for this year’s competition is £35 million, which will be distributed accordingly at each stage of the competition.
This figure is down from £38 million in 2019, mainly due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
However, as usual, men and women will receive the same bonus. This has been the standard at Wimbledon since 2008.
How much will the winner get?
This year’s winners will each receive £1.7 million.
That might seem like a lot, but compared to 2019, it’s another pretty big drop.
That year’s champions – Djokovic and Halep – each received £2.35 million.
