Underrated Action Movies: The Basics
👧👓⚡
Maybe because it’s a military movie involving covert operations and drug trafficking, or maybe because it’s coming out at the wrong time, basic It’s the kind of movie that feels like it’s missing out on a lot of the hype that could have made it a bigger deal. This type of film also makes it clear that critics are not as sophisticated as they might think, as there are many other films that are more convoluted, called “masters” and many other descriptive words, when in fact some Of the films that have gotten so many accolades, it’s not really that good, and it’s more confusing than they need to be. The thing about Basic is that it’s not that confusing if one is paying attention and thinks that every time a story is told, it’s being “rightly told” from one angle or another. Remember playing on the phone as a kid? It’s kind of on a larger scale because every story told in this film is contributing to a narrative, which is admittedly more twisted than some, but still interesting because it makes one wonder which story is true .
There will be at least some debate The logic of the movie Because it looks like the whole story could be simplified and simplified to some extent, but in the spirit of making the movie and giving enough action to satisfy the audience, Basic begins with a controversial scene in which soldiers should allies fight each other during a live-fire exercise Shooting, designed to pit them against the elements, not each other. But as the story progresses, we gain a better understanding of how many layers the story has and why different perspectives matter.
John Travolta’s character Tom Hardy, a former Army Ranger and DEA agent, felt like an outsider from the start, but as things unfolded, it became clear he knew more than he revealed. Understandably, Connie Nelson’s character, Captain Julia Osborne, is increasingly frustrated with Hardy because he doesn’t seem to be taking the investigation seriously. Things take another turn when it comes to Sergeant Major Nathan West, played by Samuel L. Jackson, as West is known for being extremely tough and demanding , and also knew of the illegal operation carried out by two soldiers, Mueller and Castro, and went to tell the commander of the base before the training exercise that apparently killed him and everyone except the two squads. Looking at the story from the point of view given by both survivors, it’s easy to think that someone who doesn’t pay attention will get confused, because it’s important to see how the story is twisted and out of context between the two of them, especially since Each of them is telling their own story while isolating each other.
Only when one of the survivors was poisoned and vomited blood by an unidentified assailant did things begin to point to something and others who might be working behind the scenes, at which point Hardy took matters into his own hands and threatened the rest Survivors reveal what really happened. The drug smuggling was then revealed, as was the apparent truth of what happened when West confronted the recruits about the operation and was eventually killed after killing several of them. Hardy and Osborn wrap up their investigation, not long after discovering that the base commander had poisoned another survivor and was the real brain of the operation. When he tried to lure Hardy to join him and was rejected, he tried to kill Hardy but was shot by Osborn, who eavesdropped on their conversation. Some critics might have been satisfied if things had ended like this, but when Hardy uttered something that sparked a sense of warning in Osborn’s mind, she followed Hardy and found him working with the last survivor of the disaster , which is actually part of the unit called Section 8.
The fact that all but two of the squads are apparently dead in the jungle is group 8, and West who is alive after all, which is kind of funny because it gives a sense of mystery, and these People are not to be messed with because they can infiltrate a US Army base and disappear so easily. But while the layering of this story is actually well done, Critics don’t really agree.
