Underrated Action Movies: Get Gringo
👩🎤👗
Back in 2012, Mel Gibson made a movie called get gringo, and with action movies on the way, that’s not too bad. Honestly, it even gets good reviews, but you probably won’t hear a lot about it. Honestly, the story is fun, the dialogue is easy to follow, and it fits the movie perfectly. It’s kind of nice to see Gibson back as a loner, an outsider, and someone who knows how to think in a corner to survive and get along with those around him, because in this film he’s a career criminal who is simply called For Gringo, that’s the name of the movie. But when the movie starts, we see Gringo and his partner in crime, who are dead, driving through the border fence to escape the police before Gringo is picked up by several corrupt Mexican cops. The money was taken and his dead partner was cremated, the police put the Gringo in a prison that was more of a functional ghetto than an institution, but people were still a prisoner in a way .
The prison is actually run by a crime family, with a guy named Javi at the top because he caters to police and prison guards and can basically come and go as he pleases. But when Gringo starts doing what he does best, which is paying attention to who he can rob and who’s in charge, he’s causing himself a lot of trouble when he talks to a kid who’s going to kill Javi. Gringo persuaded the child not to do it, eventually finding out that Javi’s liver was failing, and the child was the only viable donor. Javi killed the child’s father in an attempt to transplant, but apparently unsuccessful.
On top of that, the guy from which Gringo stole the money started looking for it and eventually found two corrupt cops who kept burning money while partying and having fun, but were tortured and eventually killed as Javi’s The subordinate, warned by the gringo for cash, kills the people sent by the gang boss. In retaliation, the mob boss sends a group of assassins to prison, which begins a firefight that doesn’t end until the assassin’s death. Gringo has been in Javi’s favor since then, but his plans to keep the kids safe means his gamble on getting Javi off the mob boss, while successful, is risky. After drawing up the next part of the plan and learning that Javi is planning a transplant, Gringo goes back to prison to save the child and his mother, and in the process kills Javi and anyone else he needs with his cash, children left with the mother of the child. From there they went to get back the stolen money that the police didn’t get before they disappeared.
One more point, but gist It was Gringo who, after being caught and basically taking the money he stole, ended up devising a plan that was both risky and dangerous that could get him killed or worse. The plan is not difficult but to understand all of this does require the audience to pay attention otherwise they will get what is happening in the broadest sense but otherwise it can be a little confusing why some people kill others and why so many People are angry with foreigners. Mel Gibson as a villain trying to get back what he’s done before, and the part of getting revenge on those who made him dirty is a privilege enjoyed by this type of film and is sure to have a huge impact. Something about Gibson as a villain is interesting because it gives him more wiggle room to go crazy and play with the character.
Some might want to say he had a chance to play the role of Martin Riggs in a Lethal Weapon movie, but that’s definitely different because Riggs still has morals and a moral code to live by. Gringo is the kind of guy who has a heart and enjoys his morals when it suits him, but otherwise, he’s also the kind of guy who is happy to see people get what they deserve. This attitude really works this movie.
