Three active NBA stars snubbed by 75th anniversary team
π¨π€
This NBA Commemorate its 75th anniversary by announcing an anniversary team consisting of the top 75 players in league history. Overall, the judges got it right, but there were still some surprising omissions. Here are the NBA stars currently snubbed by 75th anniversary teams.
The 2021-22 season marks the NBA’s 75th anniversary.
To celebrate the milestone, the league released a list of its 75 greatest players.
Twenty-five years ago, the NBA released its list of the 50 greatest players in NBA history.
However, 25 years later, there are still 25 players to join.
The 75th Anniversary Team was selected by a panel of current and former NBA players, coaches, general managers, team and league executives, WNBA legends, and sports reporters and broadcasters.
A total of 11 active players were selected for the roster.
They are Giannis Antetokounmpo, Carmelo Anthony, Stephen Curry, Anthony Davis, Kevin Durant, James Harden, LeBron James, Kawhi Leonard , Damian Lillard, Chris Paul and Russell Westbrook.
Not surprisingly, with a roster like this, there have been many snubs from players who are considered retired or still active.
Here are three active NBA players who are very annoyed at being left out of their teams.

Dwight Howard
The Lakers big man is arguably the most snubbed of any NBA player right now.
Dwight’s first nine years in the league were the most dominant center we’ve seen since the Shaq era.
The Orlando Magic’s No. 1 overall pick set countless team and league records in the organization, beating LeBron’s Cavaliers on the way to the 2009 NBA Finals.
While he declined slightly in the post-2009 years, Dwight’s resume compares favorably with many players on the Anniversary team.
Here are some of his achievements:
- NBA championship
- 8 All-NBA selections
- 8 All-Stars
- 5 x Rebound Leader
- 3 x DPOY
- 2 x block leaders
- 2nd in MVP voting (2011)
Congrats to everyone who made the NBA75 Anniversary Tm, but Dwight Howard should have made this tm. The media and players, past and present, may not like him because he jokes a lot. His resume says he’s one of the 75 best NBA players of all time. ππΎππΎππΎ

Howard also made more All-NBA teams (eight times) than any other player to leave the NBA’s 75th anniversary team.
He was named to the All-NBA team with Dave DeBuscher, Kevin McHale, Earl Monroe, Dennis Rodman, Nate Thurmond, Wes Unseld, Layβ Nee Wilkens is as much as James Worthy combined.
Ultimately, all players with 13,000 rebounds and 2,000 blocks, except Howard, were named to the 75th Anniversary Team.

Kyrie Irving
Say what you like about Kyrie Irving’s off-court role as one of the most talented guards the league has ever seen.
Irving is a seven-time All-Star, NBA Champion, NBA All-Star Game MVP, former NBA Rookie of the Year, and a second-team All-NBA selection.
His 3-pointer against Stephen Curry in the 2016 NBA Finals remains one of the key shots in NBA history.
Kyrie’s omission is even more puzzling considering the addition of Damian Lillard, who has only made six All-Star appearances and never made the Finals.
Andre Iguodala thinks Irving has always been a top 20, let alone a 75…
Paul George
The PG-13 has received a lot of criticism for its mediocre performance in the playoffs.
Having said that, there is no doubt that he is one of the best wing defenders in recent years.
His resume also speaks for itself.
George was a seven-time All-Star, six-time All-NBA and four-time All-Defensive.
He’s also the most improved player in the former NBA, the 2019 steals leader and third in 2019 MVP voting.

Golden State’s Klay Thompson may also claim to be included.
The injured shooting guard seemed aggrieved on social media, posting the following on his IG:
NBA 75th anniversary team retired players snubbed

Some of the most obvious include Deacon Bermuttombo, Walter Bellamy, Grant Hill, Bernard King, Artis Gilmore, Penny Hardaway, Vince Carter, Tracy McGrady, Paul Gardner Saul and Tony Parker.
