The Best Summoning Saul’s Top 5 Characters
Sometime in 2022, Better call Saul Will drop the sixth and final season of a brilliant character study about the world’s darkest lawyer, Saul Goodman. With so many emotions running high last season, this list will focus on five of the best characters who came and went. breaking Bad Prequel. Be warned, there will be some spoilers, so don’t read if you haven’t caught up to the show.
Saul Goodman
James Morgan “Jimmy” McGill in breaking Bad, But who knew he would turn into such a charming character? From his struggles to find a decent gig in previous seasons, to his battle with his own brother, to Mr. Goodman finally being the man we watch breaking Bad, Saul Goodman’s evolution and character studies have yet to disappoint, thanks to Vince Gilligan’s incredible writing and Bob Odenkirk’s stellar performances. Saul is not your typical sympathetic villain. His brother tried to stop him, and his life kept haunting him. However, Mr Goodman is known to get himself into trouble as well, despite being a damn good lawyer. He’s sloppy and corrupt, but Goodman isn’t just for the money. He wants to prove he is the best lawyer in the world and give the middle finger to those who looked down on him in the past. He’s the exact opposite of Walter White, and in some ways has a stronger character than him.
Mike Elmantrout
“I have people. I have people waiting for me. They don’t know what I’m doing, they never will. They’re protected, but I do what I do to give them a better life if I live Or I’m dead, as long as they have what they need, it really doesn’t make a difference to me. So when it’s time for me to go, I’ll know that I did everything I could for them. Now, you ask How do I move on? That’s how.” Mike’s morals are what really made him a great man. On the surface, Mike seems like a decent guy. He clearly cares about his family and won’t do anything unless it’s for the good of his daughter and her children; however, Mike is still a bad guy. A corrupt cop who ends up being Gustavo Flynn’s right-hand man. It’s also interesting to see his character slowly advance and gain Gustavo’s trust. He’s a smart guy who doesn’t feed on power or money, and despite working with drug lords, he never changes his goals or adjusts his morals to make Gustavo happy. The show is as much about Mike Emmantrout as it is about Saul Goodman, and both characters benefit greatly from this prequel.
Kim Wexler
Easily the cutest and most sympathetic character on this list, the exact opposite of Jimmy. Kim Wexler sees the good in Jimmy despite his constant forays into the criminal world. However, Wexler changed significantly in season five. It feels as though Jimmy’s corruption has had an effect on her, and now Kim is being dragged into his shady way of life.Fun fact, Kim was never there breaking Bad, which raised many questions about what happened to her character. Will she die? Or did she end up leaving Jimmy? Kim’s character is an example of how having a negative impact in your life can drag you into a hole so deep that you may never get out.
la ro salamanca
Lalo Salamanca in breaking Bad, so it’s a good thing that Vince Gilligan chose to introduce his character in the prequels. Lalo Salamanca is a bad guy. He’ll kill you easily if you get past him, but he’s the exact opposite of Gustavo. The drug lord is more of a closed/solitary person, while Lalo Salamanca easily fits into a party, drinking beer with his friends and sharing stories of his childhood. What Vince Gilligan has done so well is making a different and unique set of characters throughout the world breaking Bad. Saul Goodman, Mike Ehrmantraut, Gustavo Fring, Ignacio Varga (Nacho) and Lalo are all villains; however, they are all different and each has their own set of ethics. It should be interesting to see what happens to Lalo in season six.implying that Lalo died in breaking Bad, although it has not been confirmed. After the chaos that happened in the finale, the hell between Lalo, Nacho, and Gustavo is sure to break.
Nacho Varga
Nacho’s fate also hangs in the balance. For eagle-eyed viewers who have watched breaking Bad, there’s a clear line about whether the character is alive or dead, although we didn’t see him until the prequel. Varga is standing somewhere in the middle. He’s not a downright bad guy like Gustavo or Lalo, but he’s not really a good guy either. He’s one of the quieter characters on the entire show, but his moves still pack a punch Better call Saul. He’s escaped a few near misses in previous seasons, will he make it out of season 6 alive?
