West Ham midfielder Declan Rice tells Danny Murphy what David Moyes told him after Hammers win over Sheffield United to the Daily Mail.
Rice talks about Moyes’ new goal for the Hammers following a 3-0 win over the Blades.
The Irons are tied for fourth in the Premier League table when they beat Sheffield.
However, the West Ham boss is keen to retain the position, hoping to get European football next season.
Speaking to Danny Murphy in an interview with the Daily Mail, Rice said: “After the Sheffield United game, when we were tied for fourth, he told us there were 14 games left. To play, we need to look at the position in Europe.”
The England international agreed with Moyes’ goals for the season and went on to say that after years of uncertainty and even reaching the Championship – this is what the Hammers should be.
“That’s the goal now, where this club has to be. We’ve been fighting for relegation for years, even in the Championship.”
The Irons start their tough game against Tottenham at 12pm today, the latest in their favour.
at the end six meetings Between the two sides, the north London club have won four times, while the Hammers have won just once and a draw has been drawn.

Tough game for hardcore teams
The Hammers’ next seven games look really tough to navigate and will likely decide whether they can finish in Europe.
Moyes’ team played at Spurs today, and it’s hard to tell even at Spurs themselves.
However, even if the hardcore do manage to beat Mourinho’s side, things won’t get any easier.
They still have to face Manchester City, Leeds United, Manchester United, Arsenal, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Leicester City in that order.
Leeds United and Wolves looked to have the easiest games, but both were extremely challenging.
The only good thing about this tough game now is that the last three games Moyes has to play are much simpler.
The Hammers will face Brighton, West Brom and Southampton in their final three games of the season.
All three games are certainly winnable and could very well give West Ham a place in the Europa League or even the Champions League.
