Everton supporters flooded Tom Davies with praise after watching his game against Tottenham Hotspur last night.
The pair played an incredible FA Cup game at Goodison Park. Everton ended up winning 5-4, a terrific advertisement for English football.
With seven different scorers on the night, there could have been more if Robin Olsen and Hugo Lloris didn’t make some decent saves.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side came out strong against Jose Mourinho’s side and finally came out victorious.
Plenty of players made headlines, but it was Davies’ relentless effort that kept Everton fans singing on their social media rooftops.
Tom Davis was great last night.
Energy, determination, but most of all he was in control. I think he wants to do well, he tries to do everything a lot and bites more than he can chew.
Hopefully he can start here, he’s cracking the last few games. 💙

Doucoure and Gylfi were great last night, but shout out to Tom Davies, who has surrendered here but is improving with each game and looked like a fit player last night. Good example of developing and maintaining patience with young players. Better players and times to play here and there now.

A day to remember for Tom Davis
Davies played alongside Abdoulaye Doukour for two full hours in midfield, setting the stage for Everton’s numerous attacks.
He’s been in and out of Ancelotti, and the race for places has intensified following the summer wave of signings.
Both Doukour and Allen have been signed as defenders in midfield, an area where Davis usually operates.
But last night’s performance proved that the 22-year-old can make a big difference for Everton.
No member of the Toffees has more contact with the Spurs than Davis (98), who is also second only to Yerimina (90.5%) in passing accuracy (Whoscored.com).

His combination with Doucour is certainly something Ancelotti wants to build in the future. They both provide great energy throughout the park and are good on the ball or close to the center of the field.

It provides a fine balance that Everton have not really had since Allen was injured last December.
Ancelotti has confirmed the Brazilian has returned to training and could play for Fulham on Sunday.
It would feel harsh to drop Davis after such a stellar performance.
Everton’s followers just want to see Davies succeed. A local lad who grew up at the academy, who knew nothing but Merseyside, was the personification of their historic club.
