- Sanjeev Rajput is a retired officer in the Indian Navy and Air Rifle Team.
- He said in an interview that he was naughty as a child, and the parents of neighbors and friends complained about his naughty behavior.

At the 2008 and 2012 Olympics, I almost missed the 3P final. My third qualifier in Rio, I got knocked out. But if you look at (Abhinav) Bindra and Gagan Narang, they both won medals in the third Olympic Games. Going alone for the first time, it was a new world for him (the Olympics). The second time, there was still some preparation, but the third time the shooter was well prepared. I didn’t get a third chance. After being eliminated in Rio, I thought I should quit the sport. “

- In 2007, he set a national record with a score of 1170/1200 at the ISSF World Cup in Fort Benning, Georgia, USA, and broke the record in 2011 with a score of 1181.
- In 2014, he got a job as a police inspector at the Haryana Police Department.
- He was appointed shooting coach by the Indian Sports Authority in New Delhi in February 2015. In an interview, speaking about his coaching career, Sanjeev said,
The best thing that happens when I coach is when I teach my technique, I can rewind and further improve my technique. It was a blessing in disguise when my foundation got really strong. In 2016, I won a World Cup silver medal in Baku, and then in 2017 I reached the World Cup final twice. Then he won gold at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games with a record 3P.

I’m under a lot of stress because I’m also caring for my aging parents. Thankfully, my pensions from my previous employers – the Navy and funding through TOPS – Target Olympic Leaders The podium program – helped me get through training. I don’t have any experience in any other profession. I can’t be a banker or a school teacher. Because I’m an athlete, I’m committed to being a better shooter every day.”
