Calling a Jedi “weak” isn’t a habit many fans want to get into, as the general idea is that a Force-sensitive character needs a strong mind, body, and spirit to be a Jedi, and the only ones who consider themselves weak are West. s.But there’s an idea that the prequel Jedi has weakened itself so much that it’s not hard to imagine why Order 66 was so effective, or how Palpatine was able to move behind the scenes so easily in the prequelsThe Jedi of this era lost something more important in the High Republic era, an attachment that the Jedi had long shunned. From a practical standpoint, it’s fair to say that depending on the state of mind of one person or the other, attachment to others can reach dangerous and very harmful levels. But given the way the Jedi have long preached balance, it’s fair to assume they’ve lost their way while trying to maintain order that has almost lost all sense.
Interestingly, if the Jedi could accept and manage their emotions and allow attachment, they might be better off. As it stands, some Jedi are believed to have secret flirtations or feelings for others that are hidden or discouraged, as attachment is the surefire way to the dark side, as those in the order choose believe. Qui-Gon Jinn has strong feelings for a woman, as written in one story, Obi-Wan has feelings for the ruler of Mandalore, and of course Anakin Skywalker and Padme form a union, if If anyone, he will be removed from the order to be able to call them.
But oddly enough, if attachments were allowed, the Jedi might have much stronger Better than the Sith to find the type of Force balance they often seek. But as a what-if scenario, it could be an interesting story, especially since it would introduce so many interesting ideas that could inject new directions into the great Star Wars story.
