British skateboarder Sky Brown makes history at the Olympics as Team England’s Youngest ever Olympic medalist. Sky wins bronze at Tokyo 2020 at just 13 years old.
Clearly, the sky is an inspiration. But even before her Olympic medal in Tokyo, Sky Brown was seen as a role model by many young girls and skateboarders around the world.
In December 2020, Sky Brown was named one of the characters in a new line of Barbie character models. Let’s take a look at Sky’s doll.

Mattel chooses skateboarder Sky as their next Barbie
On December 2, 2020, it was announced that Sky Brown would be Barbie’s youngest-ever “Shero” with her own doll in the Barbie character model line.

At 12 As she inspires girls and boys to push boundaries, pursue their passions, and go for gold at any age.”
the sky took Instagram Sharing the news, writing: “For me this is a dream come true.” Her caption also featured a shocking emoji.
This isn’t the first toy company to take inspiration from Olympic medalist Sky Brown.In fact, she appeared as herself in an episode of Netflix’s Polly Pocket series earlier this year.
Can you buy a Sky Brown Barbie?
Unfortunately, no.Looks like Sky Brown’s Barbie is one of a kind toy doll. The doll was presented to Sky in December 2020 recovering from injury from falling. In early 2020, Skye broke her left wrist and hand and fractured her skull at a skate park in California.

The Barbie Role Models collection appears to be a one-off, gifted to the woman who inspired the doll.This month, we see vaccine scientist Professor Sarah Gilbert give her own dollhoping to inspire young girls’ careers in STEM.
Other influential female athletes such as Nicola Adams and Dina Asher-Smith have also been named as some of Barbie’s role models.
Mattel’s team has also created dolls of important female historical figures, such as Frida Kahlo, Rosa Parks and Katherine Johnson, as part of their Inspirational Women’s Collection.
