The news of Anthony “AJ” Johnson’s passing just broke. TMZ reported that he was “found lifeless in the store” earlier this month.
Medics pronounced him dead shortly after. However, no cause of death has been made public yet.
The actor and comedian faced Judge Greg Mathis as a defendant earlier this year in episode 22128R. Sitting next to him on the video conference call was the plaintiff, “former friend” Lafayette Lawson, who sued Johnson for $1,982 worth of car rental fees.

When was this episode recorded and when did it air?
according to the program website, Lawson v. Johnson (Case No. 318), airs August 19, 2021. Recorded on January 19th.
However, some social media users mentioned having seen it back in April, so there seems to be some discrepancy between the reported air date and the actual air date.

He’s on his way to a comedy show. However, he was reportedly “resting comfortably” at Jamaica Hospital in Queens before night fell.

Beyond that, there is no indication — at least not reported — that he was in poor health in the months leading up to his death.As recently as May of this year, according to his own Instagram feed, he was Performing live comedy in New Jersey.
A sort of GoFundMe The page, which was set up earlier today to raise money for Johnson’s “homecoming service and continued support for his children and grandchildren,” has so far raised $156 of its $20,000 goal.
