It was a grumpy game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Las Vegas Raiders, with both teams taking 28 penalties, but is that the record for most free throws in an NFL game?
In the end, the Texas game went into overtime and the two teams sealed the victory 33-33 after regular time in the Cowboys’ traditional Thanksgiving game.
Daniel Carlson was the Raiders hero, kicking a 29-yard field goal in Game 5 to give the Raiders a road win.
It was a start-stop at AT&T Stadium, with both teams struggling to get any real rhythm during the shutdown.
But with 28 penalties in the game, is that the most ever in an NFL game? If not, which game holds the record?

Most penalty kicks in an NFL game
The 28 penalties and 276 free throw yards allowed in the Cowboys-Raiders NFL game aren’t the most in a single game.
In fact, the Cowboys made 14 penalties for 166 yards, the most in franchise history.
However, despite their record breaking, the team didn’t break the NFL record for most free throws in a single game.
That honor belongs to the 1976 game between the Seattle Seahawks and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Both teams are in their first NFL seasons and are 0-5 in their first five games.
The Seahawks won 13-10 that day, but it wasn’t a great game.
A total of 39 penalties were taken in this match, 35 of which were accepted.
There are 310 free throw yards combined in NFL games, with two teams made up mostly of Rangers and Journeymen.

A game with more free throw yards
Going back further, one NFL game in 1951 recorded more free throw yards than the Seahawks/Bucs ’76 game.
The Cleveland Browns and Chicago Bears combined for 374 yards on 37 free throws made that day in November.
The Browns won 42-21 that day and advanced to the championship game — now the Super Bowl.
They lost to the Los Angeles Rams 24-17.
