“It looks like (Ozil) a move to Fenerbahce is very likely,” Ornstein said. “But there is still a lot to happen and nothing is guaranteed. There are other options for the summer.
“Ian Wright said he thinks Arsenal should pay for the rest of Ozil’s contract. I don’t think that’s the worst idea. Then there’s a good chance Ozil leaves this month.
“In terms of leaving this month, Fenerbahce is the only really credible move in January. The ball is heavy on Arsenal’s pitch. If they do their part, (Fenerbahce) will be able to get the Funding the transaction in one way or another.
“A lot may depend on Arsenal, whether they are willing to pay the contract, even if it is staggered over a long period of time. Ozil wants to be paid.”

The idea of paying Ozil’s contract up front when he hasn’t played might not be particularly palatable to some Arsenal fans.
