Alejandro Fernandez Abarca ([aleˈxandro feɾˈnandes]; born April 24, 1971) is a Mexican singer.
Nicknamed “El Potrillo” (Colt) by the press and his fans, he has sold over 30 million albums worldwide. Alejandro is the son of rancher-singer Vicente Fernandez. He initially focused on traditional, down-to-earth forms of Mexican folk music, such as mariachi and ranch music, until his successful foray into pop music.
During his career, he has won two Latin Grammys and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

He made his first public appearance in 1976 during a performance of his father. Alejandro was going to sing the song “Alejandra,” but in the middle of the song he forgot the lyrics, started crying, and suffered a panic attack. His father, Vicente Fernandez, took the stage and sang with him.
Fernandez released his first album Alejandro Fernandez under Sony Music. The main hits were “Necesito olvidarla”, “Brumas” and “Equivocadamente”. 2007–2010: Viento a Favor, Dos Mundos
