Ah Salenkai is a Marathi writer, scholar and social activist associated with the Satya Shodhak Samaj and Shivdharma movements.
In 2010, he was the Chairman of Cultural Policy in Maharashtra.
Born into a small peasant family in Kadwadi, Sanli district, he graduated from Shivaji Vidyapeeth with a Ph.D. in Sanskrit. He was a department head at a university in Satara. He was Dean of the Faculty of Arts at Kolhapurshwaji University.
Salunkhe received the Bhai Madhavrao Bagal Award in 2007 by Madhavraoji Bagal Vidhyapeeth of Kolhapur.
