Albert S. Rudy (born March 28, 1930) is a Canadian-born film and television producer.
life and career
Albert Stotland Ruddy was born into a Jewish family in Montreal and raised by his mother Ruth Ruddy Hertz in New York City and Miami Beach, Florida. Ruddy attended Brooklyn Technical High School before receiving a scholarship that allowed him to study chemical engineering at the City College of New York. He graduated from the University of Southern California School of Architecture before designing homes in the East Coast construction industry.
After a brief stint at Warner Bros., Ruddy switched to a programmer intern at the RAND Corporation in Santa Monica, California, due to a chance meeting with studio head Jack L. Warner.Back in show business, Ruddy was a TV writer for Universal Studios, but left when the legendary actor’s father, Marlon Brando Sr., hired him to produce wild seeds (1965).
With the completion of the film, Ruddy co-created Hogan’s hero (CBS, 1965-1971), it was a crucial success and ran for six seasons. With the end of the sitcom, Rudy returned to the film industry, producing two comedies: Little Foss and Big Halsey (1970), about two motorcycle racers, and in progress (1971), about a sexually triumphant high school student making the bed for his gym teacher’s geriatric-phobic wife. For a while, Ruddy collaborated with author and philosopher Ayn Rand on her epic novel Atlas shrugged As a film, he bought the rights in the mid-1970s, but the film never went beyond planning. Rand asked for an unprecedented final script approval, and Rudy agreed. However, her friends pointed out that Ruddy could shoot the approved script and still leave all speeches on the cutting room floor. Rand asked for final editing approval, which neither Rudy nor the director had the authority to grant her, so she responded by withdrawing support for the film and vowing to ensure Rudy would never be involved in any adaptations of her novel.
In the early 2000s, he helped create the successful series Texas Rangers Walker.

Ruddy initially married and divorced fellow Jewish Francoise Ruddy. This was before she changed her name to Ma Prem Hasya as part of the Rajneeshpuram commune in central Oregon. Françoise saw him by making “The Godfather,” and even lent her name to the production company’s title.
Ruddy is currently married to Wanda McDaniel, mother of his two children John Ruddy and Alexandra Ruddy. Currently, she is Executive Vice President of Italian design legend Giorgio Armani. She has been credited with making fashion an event and helping Armani become a fashion legend.
