Ainsley Denzil Dubriel Harriott MBE (born 28 February 1957) is an English chef, TV presenter and entertainer.He is famous for the BBC cooking show can’t cook, can’t cook and Ready Steady Chef.
early life
Harriott was born on 28 February 1957 in Paddington, London, to Peppy (née Strudwick) and pianist and singer Chester Leroy Harriott (1933-2013). He is of Jamaican descent. Harriot attended Wandsworth Comprehensive School, then trained at Kingsway College, Westminster (formerly Westminster Technical College) and apprenticed at Verrey’s restaurant in the West End before becoming a chef.
Profession
Harriot’s talents lie in comedy and singing as well as cooking. He formed the Calypso twins with school friend Paul Boros, who released the hit record “The World Party” in the early 1990s. The Calypso Twins are regulars at the Comedy Store and Jongleurs. They also perform in the United States as well as on TV and radio shows. Harriott becomes the head chef at Lord’s Cricket Ground longhouse.He was asked to introduce More Nosh, less Dosh On BBC Radio 5 Live and as an extra on Hale and Pace.

Although Harriot believed his great-great-grandfather, James Gordon Harriot, was a black slave, he was revealed to be descended from a long line of white slave owners.
